Night Shift Wins at WinCo, Handyman Progress, and Dating Reflections: A Positive Update

August 29, 20253 min read

Hey, Life with Justin Stephens community! Justin here, with a journal entry on how things are unfolding—it's been a solid week blending new routines, work wins, and personal adjustments. As we document this journey of personal finance, success, business, sales, and marketing, these updates keep it real. The night shift at WinCo is going well, my handyman hustle is advancing, and on the personal side, dating remains an adventure. Let's break it down.

Night Shift at WinCo: Enjoying the Work, Adjusting to the Hours

The night shift at WinCo is going well, and I'm really enjoying the work so far. It's rewarding to be part of a team where everyone knows their role, and we're all working toward making the store ready for customers. For now, it's great just contributing behind the scenes, but I hope someday I can move into a more customer-facing role where I'm talking and working directly with clients—helping them find items or offering that extra touch. I've been making good progress learning what goes where and getting faster at stocking shelves, which feels satisfying. The transition to nights has been harder than expected, though—I'm exhausted a lot of the time as my body adjusts. I started taking my daily medication at nights, which has helped a lot with staying awake and productive. It's a grind, but seeing the store come together by morning makes it worth it.

Handyman Hustle: Marketing Gigs and New Clients

The handyman side hustle is also going well! I've been working with a painting company on their marketing, and it's progressing nicely—there's even talk of a potential partnership down the line that could tie in perfectly with my goals. Tomorrow, I have a walkthrough with a new client to help turnover their rental unit, which I'm looking forward to. It's amazing how these opportunities are building, and I feel blessed to accomplish so much in a short time.

Personal Reflections: Dating and Life's Weird Turns

On the personal side, the lady friend I'd been talking with and I decided it wasn't a good fit, so we're just going to be friends. Dating is so weird these days, especially with kids and work—the main way to meet people is through apps, and I can confidently say I don't love it! :P But it's all part of the journey, and I'm open to what comes next.

Wrapping Up: Gratitude for the Progress

Overall, work is going great—both at WinCo and the hustle—and I'm excited for where this is heading. Feeling blessed and ready for more.

Why This Matters for Your Journey

These updates show how blending steady work with passions leads to fulfillment—in finance (stable income), business (growing opportunities), and life (navigating personal twists with positivity).
