Newsletter Sent out today:

Good morning! It is April 18th, 2024, and we are off to a great start on this glorious Thursday morning. Yesterday was my second day at Service Experts, and it was absolutely phenomenal. We spent the day diving into the basics of HVAC, water heaters, plumbing, and more. My role as part of the team is to work alongside the technician to ensure that the homes we visit are protected and well-maintained. It's an incredibly interesting system - think of it as a "done for you" home maintenance program. Instead of having to be an expert or figure things out on your own, you can simply give us a call, and we'll handle everything for you. As I continue to learn and grow in this field, I've realized that we often take everyday items for granted without considering how they work or why they work the way they do.

Understanding How Things Work

Take, for example, the heating and air conditioning systems in our homes. We might see a big box in our garages or basements, but have you ever really stopped to think about what's inside that box? HVAC systems are complex, and there is so much more to them than meets the eye. It's fascinating to learn about the inner workings of heaters, air conditioners, heat pumps, heat exchangers, and various other components. As a Lennox brand partner, we focus on providing top-notch service and understanding how these systems function. There's so much to discover, and it's a journey that I'm truly excited to be on.

Looking Beyond the Surface

Often, we tend to view things as mere boxes - whether it's our home's HVAC system or even technology like artificial intelligence and computers. It's easy to take them for granted and not question how they operate. Personally, I don't have in-depth knowledge of coding or the intricacies of technology. My approach is more focused on utilizing tools and systems that have been developed by individuals who are far more knowledgeable than myself. I see everything as a box, and it's up to me to understand how that box can enhance my life, help me achieve my goals, and pursue my dreams.

Embracing Lifelong Learning

Learning about air conditioners and their refrigerant systems is just one example of how expanding our knowledge can open doors to new possibilities. Understanding how refrigerant transitions from gas to liquid and its impact on cooling and heating our homes is truly fascinating. However, the question remains - where do we start when it comes to learning about these complex systems? The answer lies in embracing the world as our classroom.

The World as Our Classroom

Every single day, there are countless opportunities to learn something new. It doesn't matter how old we are or how much we already know; there is always more to discover. In the grand scheme of things, my 37 years of life experience is just a drop in the ocean of knowledge that exists. I recognize that I am far from being an expert, but that doesn't discourage me. Instead, it fuels my desire to keep learning and growing.

Continuing the Journey

Today, I am excited to continue my journey of discovery within this company. I'm eager to learn more about how the company operates and gain a deeper understanding of its inner workings. Each day brings new opportunities for growth and development, and I am grateful to have this chance to expand my knowledge. Thank you all for following along with me on this journey, and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Good morning. Good morning. Good morning.

There's our flag. It is April 18, 2024. It is a glorious Thursday morning, and we are off.

Yesterday was my second day at service expo, and it was phenomenal. It was really fun. They're teaching us the basics of h vac and water heaters and plumbing and stuff like that.

My role when I go out on calls each day is to work with the technician to make sure the home's protected and we know what's going on and do maintenance on it. It's a really cool system. We actually track maintenance and fulfill on it for our clients.

So think about it like a done for you home maintenance program. So any problems, you just call us. We show up and take care of it, rather than you needing to be the expert or figure it out or anything like that.

And so I'm learning. Like, yesterday we went over how heaters work, air conditioners work, heat pumps, heat exchangers, all kinds of different systems and equipment. We're a Lenox brand partner is who we focus on, it seems, which is great.

So just learning all these different things about the. Come on, Penny. About heating and air conditioning.

And there are things that I've never even thought about before. I have, but not really. You don't.

We as a society do not think about how things work enough. I believe so. Like, you go in mines in my garage.

Our heater, it's right there. It's a big box. I change the filters out.

Like, I take care of it. But at the end of the day, Penny, no, at the end of the day, it is a box, but it's what's inside the box that makes it tick and how it ticks and why it ticks. And we just don't look at things in those terms.

Like take AI. How does it work? I have no idea. Computers in general, I have no clue how to code.

I'm not a coder. Everything I do is no code. It's tools.

Someone else way smarter than me has figured out how to build and use. And then I go in and I just say, this is close to what I want done, and I use it. Everything's a box.

And it's up to you to look at life and say, hey, this is how this box affects my life. This is how I'm going to use this box to accomplish my goals, to chase my dreams, whatever it happens to be. But it's just understanding how things work.

I think it's so cool. Like talking yesterday about air conditioners and how the refrigerant transitions from gas to liquid in order to either pull the hot air. So if it's a heat pump, you can reverse it.

And it either pulls the hot air from the inside and dumps it outside or pulls the hot air from the outside and dumps it inside, depending on what your home needs and what your preferences are. So there's so much to learn. But at the end of the day, where do you start? Where do you start learning? And that's where I look at the world as my classroom.

I learn new things every single day. All I know is I'm 37 years old. That is not very old at all.

And I know very little. In the grand scheme of the world, in the grand scheme of all time, in the grand scheme of all knowledge, I'm a silly goose. And that's all right.

So that's the goal. Keep learning. And that's what I'm doing again today we're learning more about the company, how it operates, how it works.

It's really cool. I'm really excited. Anyways, I gotta get to work.

I hope you all have a great day. Thanks for following with me along on this journey, and we'll talk to y'all soon.
