Living It Instead of Documenting It: A Life Update

It's been a while since I posted a blog. The honest reason is that I've been busy living my life instead of documenting it.

It's always easy not to create content. There's no deadline, no one knocking on the door asking where the next post is. I hope you understand the commitment it takes to keep creating, and I hope you'll forgive the quiet stretch. With that said, I want to catch you up on where life is right now.

On the personal side

I've been dating Adrianne for about a month now, and it's going really well. We're both a little infatuated with each other, and we're very supportive of each other.

She knows all about my dreams for America's Holding Company. In fact, as I've started opening the doors back up and inviting people to join me in it, she became the very first person to sign on. That meant more to me than she probably knows.

She's kind and understanding, a great mother, and driven to make a difference. The way she's supported my goals has made me feel very loved. I feel blessed by this relationship.

On the WinCo side

Work has kept me busy. We've been focused on getting everything ready for Halloween, which is always a big push.

I'm also heading to Walla Walla, Washington soon for a couple of weeks to help with a new store opening. I'm excited about it. I've never seen a new store come together from the inside, and I expect to learn a lot.

WinCo also sponsors a retail management certificate program that I've been thinking about for a while. It would teach me more about the industry and about what we're doing as an organization to grow, and I think it would help my advancement at WinCo too. I'm signing up today. We'll see what comes of it.

On the America's Holding Company side

This part has been going really well. I now have my first two members on board, and I'm finalizing the founding documents and a welcome binder so every member knows exactly how everything works and has what they need.

To be transparent, it's still very much a work in progress. What I'm building doesn't follow the standard playbook for how ownership is shared and exchanged, so there are a lot of legal and structural questions I'm still working through. I'm taking it one careful step at a time, and I'd rather be honest that it's unfinished than pretend it's polished.

I'm also exploring other ways to bring revenue into the company, including affiliate and network marketing partnerships. Those would add income to support the mission while keeping the model simple.

Where that leaves me

Overall, I'm proud of the progress I'm making and of how everything is coming together. I can't wait to see this dream really start to move and change people's lives.

It will take time. But the time is going to pass anyway. I'd rather spend it building something that matters.
