The Superbowl is today and starts in less than an hour! It is the biggest game in some of these players careers, but they didn't just wake up here. So it got me thinking about practice and how much time experts spend getting ready for the biggest game in their life. Was it practice this week that was the most important? Was it all the games that they played this year to get to this point? Was it all the games they played last year, or the year before? The thing about being an expert and on a team is the YEARS of practice that go into it. It is the practices that got them through high school, and then college. It is every single practice that has created the person they are today. In business, you must look at each day as practice for the next day. Every day builds on each other, and the days that you show up when you don't feel like it are even more important than the other days. If you are just starting out, assume you are not an expert. Assume that it will take years to get where you want to be, and embrace the practice of getting to your goals. Don't think that 6 months will suddenly change your life. 6 months added onto the life you have lived, that can change your life though. The message I want to leave with all of you today is to embrace practice and getting better each and every day. Understand that progress is the name of the game, and you need to focus on progress towards your goals rather than attaining your goals. That is what brings me peace when working on a long term goal, the fact that every day I am practicing for the life I want to live in 5 years, in 10 years, and until I pass away. I hope this concept brings you peace as you chase your dreams, and if I can help in any way, I would love to, you just have to ask! Justin PS - I have a weekly update that I will include on my dreams below, this is something I have been doing personally for more than 2 years now, and it is my guiding light for how I make decisions and decide what I want to be doing and chasing. This week, I’ve been thinking about a simple but powerful idea: the importance of not burning bridges. In the heat of a moment—a disagreement, a frustration, or a parting of ways—it’s tempting to slam the door and walk away for good. But here’s the thing: you never know how someone might reappear in your life or what role they could play down the road. People are like threads in a tapestry. Some connections seem minor—a coworker you barely know, a client you worked with briefly, a friend you...
This week, I’ve been thinking about something we all dodge but can’t escape: mistakes and failures. They sting, no question. But here’s the flip side—every flop is a masterclass in disguise. When you learn from what went wrong, you’re not just recovering; you’re arming yourself for a stronger shot at success next time. Think of it like a chef tweaking a recipe. The first batch of cookies might be too salty or burn to a crisp. Does the chef quit? Nope. They taste the mess, figure out what went...
Happy Easter Sunday! As we celebrate this day of renewal and grace, I’ve been reflecting on something powerful: forgiveness and the freedom it brings. Easter reminds us of what God has done for us—His sacrifice, His love, His promise of a fresh start. Because of that, we can let go of the pain of the past and step forward with hope. Carrying old hurts is like dragging a heavy chain. Maybe it’s a grudge against someone who wronged you, a regret you can’t shake, or even anger at yourself for...
