Life is a continuous journey of learning, growth, and transformation. On June 10, 2025, I found myself reflecting on the many facets of my entrepreneurial path, the power of systems, and the excitement of new opportunities. This journal entry captures a snapshot of my day in Meridian, Idaho, where I balance my full-time work, family life, and my long-term dream of becoming a community leader through entrepreneurship and marketing.
Tuesday morning began with a sense of purpose. I had just completed an insightful interview with my good friend Chase Circans, a seasoned professional in commercial real estate. Our conversation spanned two decades of friendship and business, exploring the nuances of commercial real estate and how to leverage content from live interviews for marketing. Using tools like Veed's AI clipping feature and Metricool for distribution, I’m streamlining how I document and share my journey.
These moments remind me that life is a team sport — sharing wins, failures, and lessons learned helps build a supportive community around us.
One of the highlights of my day was diving deeper into the StoryBrand certification program. Recommended during a coaching call with my dad, who has decades of experience in Sandler sales training, StoryBrand offers a compelling marketing framework that puts the customer at the center of the story. The idea that “the customer is the hero” resonates deeply with me — it’s not about me, but how I can help others succeed.
The certification includes:
Two-day in-person training sessions
Access to AI tools and coaching
Community support and ongoing training boards
I’m seriously considering attending the next live session in Nashville, despite the last-minute nature of the trip. It’s an investment in my future and aligns perfectly with my goal of building a media company that partners with businesses to create authentic, behind-the-scenes marketing content.
My entrepreneurial journey has had its share of ups and downs. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, with my parents owning remodeling, plumbing, and electrical companies, I was exposed early to the world of business. At 13, I began Sandler sales training, which profoundly shaped my approach to sales and coaching.
After years of trial, error, and learning, I realized the importance of having a process and system to avoid the pitfalls of “winging it.” This realization came into sharp focus during a coaching session with my dad, who encouraged me to seek out frameworks like StoryBrand to solidify my marketing efforts.
Currently, I’m focused on serving home service businesses, aiming to secure five clients, each paying $2,000 per month, where I can dedicate up to eight hours a week to improving their sales, marketing, and processes. Documenting this journey through my blog allows me to share insights and build credibility.
Sales is the lifeblood of any business, and Sandler Training has been instrumental in shaping my approach. It’s not just about closing deals but understanding how to help customers buy effectively. I wholeheartedly recommend Sandler for anyone struggling with sales or leadership challenges.
My experience coaching with my dad and engaging with Sandler materials like “No Pressure Prospecting” reminds me that empathy and process go hand in hand in creating meaningful connections with clients.
In a whirlwind decision, I signed up for the StoryBrand conference in Nashville, with a late-night flight taking me there just in time for the two-day in-person training. This spontaneous move reflects my commitment to investing in myself and my business.
The conference will be a chance to:
Network with like-minded entrepreneurs
Gain hands-on training and coaching
Refine my core offer and business model
My media company’s mission is to partner with five companies, creating authentic content that showcases their growth and culture. This approach helps potential clients see what it’s like to work with these businesses, making marketing more transparent and relatable.
During conversations with friends and family, I’m reminded of life’s fleeting nature. At 47, I find myself reflecting on how much time has passed and how important it is to make the next 30 years count. The metaphor of marking off days on a graph paper, as introduced by a mentor, offers a powerful perspective on using time wisely.
Balancing family life with five kids and now entering grandparenthood adds another layer of motivation. The goal is clear: to remain happy and free, creating a life that aligns with my values and aspirations.
Every day brings new challenges and opportunities. Whether it’s refining my marketing skills, embracing new certifications, or simply tying my shoe with a loop-the-loop, progress is found in the small steps as much as the big leaps.
For anyone on a similar journey, remember that staying busy, being open to learning, and leaning on your community can make all the difference. Life is about documenting the journey, sharing the lessons, and building something meaningful together.
If you’re interested in following along with my journey or learning more about the systems and strategies I’m exploring, I invite you to connect and join the conversation. Together, we can create change and build businesses that matter.
