Life's Adventure Continues: WinCo Progress, Financial Re-Assessment, and Dream-Chasing Grit

November 16, 20256 min read

Grok Input:

Life continues to be an adventure! My role at Winco is going well and I am loving what I am doing, I am excited to get more experience under my belt so that I can move into an actual management role instead of being in training for it. I know these things take time and that I need to put in the work upfront to prove myself, but I am confident that I will make that happen with time. I had an interesting conversation with my parents about finances and need to find a way to make more money now so that I can afford to stay in the house I am in currently and that has me thinking about the need we all have to have nice things. To be candid, I am in too nice of a house for what I can afford, in essence I am house poor. I also have a very nice truck that is way over what I can afford, or should prioritize affording, so I am looking at used commuter cars to downsize the amount it takes to cover my bills. Sometimes making the right choices in finance is difficult. That is why I am trying to be intentionally with what I am doing with the two biggest purchases a family usually makes, where they live and what they drive. Sometimes recognizing how underwater you are in your life style will lead you to making the tough decisions to change, and that is where I am at right now. I feel very blessed to have what I have, but even if you have something doesn't mean it is the only option or that you should keep it. As I am traveling through life, I need to be cognizant of the decisions I make, especially when things are tight and you are rebuilding from nothing. I want to encourage everyone to continually re-assess where you are and what you are doing, and if it is making the future you want to create harder, look for what you can change to make that future come alive quicker. It is important to remember that most people won't understand the future you want to create and that is ok. They do not live your life. They don't know who you know or what you know and they don't need to see it or understand it. The future is yours to design, so design it and work towards it. I don't know exactly how I am going to bring my dreams to life, but I know that I am never going to stop trying to make them a reality. It will most certainly take longer than I would like, but the value in chasing dreams is in the chase. Don't stop. Don't give up. You have this.

Reflections: Intentional Choices and Dream-Chasing

This re-assessment is a pivot point—downsizing frees resources for AHC and family. The chase's value is in the growth it brings, no matter the timeline.

Why This Matters for Your Journey

Financial re-assessments are growth moments—in finance (intentional spending), business (aligned choices), and life (designing your future). Re-assess to accelerate.
