Honoring Sacrifice This Memorial Day – Thank You - 2025 - Week 21 Update

As we head into Memorial Day, I’m taking a moment to pause and reflect on the incredible sacrifices made by the men and women who’ve served to protect our country. Today isn’t just about barbecues or a long weekend—it’s about remembering those who gave everything so we can live freely, safely, and with hope.

The courage of our service members is humbling. They leave behind families, comfort, and certainty to stand on the front lines, facing challenges most of us can’t imagine. Some return home carrying the weight of their experiences; others make the ultimate sacrifice, laying down their lives for us all. Their selflessness—their willingness to put country and community first—is the backbone of the freedoms we cherish every day.

I think of the stories we hear: soldiers who braved battlefields, pilots who flew into danger, medics who saved lives under fire, and families who carried on with pride and pain. Each one represents a choice to serve something bigger than themselves. Memorial Day is our chance to say thank you—not just with words, but by living in a way that honors their legacy.

So, this week, let’s hold space for gratitude. Let’s remember the names, the stories, and the sacrifices that keep our nation strong. Whether it’s visiting a memorial, sharing a story of a loved one who served, or simply taking a quiet moment to reflect, we can all show our appreciation for those who’ve given so much.

Here’s my challenge for you: find one way to honor our fallen heroes this Memorial Day. Maybe it’s thanking a veteran you know, learning about a local hero, or writing down what freedom means to you because of their sacrifice. If you feel like sharing, reply and let me know how you’re commemorating the day—I’d love to hear.

To every service member and their families, and to those we’ve lost: thank you. Your sacrifice is not forgotten. Happy Memorial Day.

With deep gratitude,

Justin

This week, I had one of those moments that stops you in your tracks and fills your heart to the brim. I went to my daughter’s dance recital, and let me tell you, it was pure magic. Watching her and all those kids up on stage—twirling, leaping, beaming with pride—was more than just a performance. It was a front-row seat to the future, learning, growing, and shining right in front of us. There’s something so powerful about spending time with the next generation. Whether it’s your own kids,...

Happy Mother’s Day! Today, I’m pausing to reflect on something that feels truer every year: mothers are the bedrock of who we are as people. Whether it’s the mom who raised us, a stepmom, a grandmother, an aunt, or any maternal figure who stepped up, their love, lessons, and strength shape the core of who we become. Think about it—our mothers (or those who fill that role) are our first teachers, our first cheerleaders, our first safe place. They’re the ones who bandage our scraped knees,...

This week, I’ve been thinking about a simple but powerful idea: the importance of not burning bridges. In the heat of a moment—a disagreement, a frustration, or a parting of ways—it’s tempting to slam the door and walk away for good. But here’s the thing: you never know how someone might reappear in your life or what role they could play down the road. People are like threads in a tapestry. Some connections seem minor—a coworker you barely know, a client you worked with briefly, a friend you...
