Up front Contracts to keep you on schedule - 2025 - Week 7 Update

The Upfront contract is a tactic that I learned from Sandler Training, and it is one of the best tactics to keep schedules on point.

It is a little contract that you set at the beginning of any meeting or outing, it could even be used for going over to family!

It consists of 4 parts:

  • Time: How much time do we need to accomplish the goal of this meeting?
  • Their Agenda: What would you like to get out of this meeting we are having together?
  • Your Agenda: What do you want to get out of this meeting or accomplish with the time you have together?
  • Outcome: In a perfect world, what outcome would you like to see happen as a result of our time together?

If you can structure your engagements and set parameters around them, it is much more likely to result in your desired outcome.

I try and use the upfront contract as much as I can when working with my co-workers and prospects.

It lets us all know we are on the same page and are accomplishing our mission.

My blog is an upfront contract for how I live my life and how I am setting up my kids for after I die.

If you aren't starting with the end in mind, how will you ever know if you got there?

I would highly suggest using upfront contracts to get on the same page with the ones you love and the people you work with. It will save everyone time and money in the long run.

If you have questions about the upfront contract, I would suggest having a conversation with any of the Sandler trainers worldwide, but most specifically my dad. He has been training Sandler for more than 25 years and is an absolute expert when it comes to the sales process.

You can reach him at jim.stephens@sandler.com or whttps://go.sandler.com/crossroads/ or email him directly at jim.stephens@sandler.com.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and we will talk with you soon,

Justin

PS - I have a weekly update that I will include on my dreams below, this is something I have been doing personally for more than 2 years now, and it is my guiding light for how I make decisions and decide what I want to be doing and chasing.

If you ever want to became part of what I am creating, you can sign up at www.justindcstephens.com for the Employee Empowerment Initiative.

The Superbowl is today and starts in less than an hour! It is the biggest game in some of these players careers, but they didn't just wake up here. So it got me thinking about practice and how much time experts spend getting ready for the biggest game in their life. Was it practice this week that was the most important? Was it all the games that they played this year to get to this point? Was it all the games they played last year, or the year before? The thing about being an expert and on a...

Starting a business is hard and comes with thousands of issues and problems to solve. What do you sell? Where do you sell it? How do you market it? Who do you sell to? How do you get your first clients? How do you fund the expenses of starting up? The list goes on and on, and most people don't know where to start and how to get something up and off the ground. When you are starting something, the key thing you start with is your time. That's why I have chosen to focus on Uber as a base...

Personal finance is a constant battle of beliefs. Your beliefs about the future, about your ability, about other companies abilities. Each day we make decisions based on where we think the future will go, and one of those decisions that I have made is that i believe right now stocks are a great store of value against the dollar. I think that with the inflation that has happened and the deflation that may come from it, storing your excess cash in stocks will save the value and even allow for...
